Richard Schaper

Richard has been engaged in gift planning for two decades, both as a consultant and as gift planning officer for the Episcopal Diocese of California. As both an Episcopal priest and a Certified Financial Planner, Richard seeks to assist people in integrating their finances with their deepest values. After study of Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University, Richard completed his graduate studies in financial planning and the management of nonprofit organizations at Golden Gate University and the University of San Francisco. He graduated magna laude from Colgate University with a major in Philosophy and Religion and earned a Master of Theology degree from The Divinity School of the University of Chicago.

A former Rhodes Scholar, Benedictine monk, hospital chaplain and parish pastor, Richard brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to assisting individuals with their financial and charitable concerns. He is a past chair of the Financial Planning Association-- San Francisco and co-chaired the San Francisco “Leave A Legacy” program of the Planned Giving Councils of Northern California and Silicon Valley.
