Richard Felton

Over 30 years of fundraising experience.

Richard W. Felton, the founder and president of Matthew Five Sixteen, has worked with non-profit organizations and churches for over 30 years. He has helped organizations ranging from World Vision to UCLA to Best Friends Animal Society grow their donor files and maximize giving from those donors.He works with educational foundations to help them identify and fulfill their mission while strengthening their leadership. Richard has also worked with a variety of churches, large and small, throughout California in the areas of stewardship, major gift solicitations, capital campaigns and Board development.

Prior to founding Matthew Five Sixteen, Richard led client services for Russ Reid, the largest advertising agency in the country working exclusively with non-profit organizations. He then led fund raising for the Buck Institute on Aging in Marin County, California. Richard became Vice President for Advancement at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkley, California. There he managed the seminary's largest capital campaign in its history. He helped secure over $16 million in gifts and pledges. He personally secured multiple pledges of $1.5 million. Richard is an accomplished retreat leader/facilitator and speaker on non-profit management, marketing/fund raising and living generously.

Richard served as Junior Warden and then Senior Warden while on the Vestry of All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, California. All Saints is the largest Episcopal Church west of the Rockies. In that position he helped guide the church through a complete renovation of the sanctuary resulting in greater accessibility and visibility for the worshipers. Richard also served as the Stewardship Consultant to the dioceses of California and Los Angeles working with Bishop William Swing and Bishop Fred Borsch.

Richard and his wife Judy recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (they got married when the were very young!). They have three grown children all of whom have chosen careers in service to the environment, education and small business.
